FABRIC:
Only accept flags that
are made from fabric that has been specifically manufactured for
flags and tested for flying durability.
|
 |
COLOR:
Although it is
understood that screen printed flags may vary in color from front
to back, the variation should only be slight. A nice, bright color
on the front and a dull color on the reverse should be avoided. The
color in these flags will deteriorate quickly.

|
HEADER/CORD:
Flags should fly
square to the mast and although the fly corners of the flag will
wear first, the white header (min .38mm) and the header cord at the
hoist edge of the flag are important. In particular, the cord
should be the full length of the header. It should not consist of
short pieces tacked onto the white header.

STITCHING:
Manufacturers will use
various sewing threads when stitching the edges and headers. If you
can break this thread easily with your hands, your flag will soon
be in trouble. |
|
SIZE:
It is wise to measure
your flag order. Fabrics do shrink in the manufacturing process.
Cutting and stitching can further reduce the original size, but you
should not accept a flag that is more than 5% under the specified
size.
